Do modern versions of SCO Unix support IDE UDMA controllers?

This is an ancient post with no relevance to modern systems.

The 5.0.6 release of SCO adds support for UDMA. Ironically, adding that support may cause you to have problems installing 5.0.6 on machines that installed easily with previous releases.

The problem is that the UDMA support doesn't work with everything. If you are getting "no root disk controller", try starting the install with "defbootstr wd.udma=off"
