A.P. Lawrence provides inexpensive custom training in Massachusetts and New England for Linux and Unix. Each course is customized specifically for your needs. For example, it should be obvious that engineers will need a different training course than accountants or secretarial staff.
People with a programming background will respond better to a training course that speaks to their background. People without such skills need a different approach. The content of a training class needs to recognize both the backgrounds of the participants and their goals. We customize our presentations with that in mind.
In addition to content and presentation, we also customize the length of the class. One day crash introductions will rely heavily on reference to books and on-line resources, while a longer five day course can afford the luxury of presenting in depth details and examples.
All classes are on-site at your place of business. We generally recommend that each day's presentation be not longer than four hours.
Our objective is not to waste your time. Too many training classes don't take your background or future needs into account- if you don't ever intend to write shell scripts, your training doesn't need to cover that. If you do, the level of concentration will depend on whether this will be an occasional need or something you will be doing every day.
Perhaps all you need is an introduction to basic Linux and Unix commands. That's a course that can probably be accomplished in half a day. On the other hand, you may have need of more advanced administrative and trouble-shooting knowledge- the point is that you will get the precise training you or your group needs.
Your instructor is Tony Lawrence- a Unix/Linux consultant, programmer and administrator since 1983. You get the benefit of decades of real experience.
Costs:
Maximum class size 10 people.
- One day (four to six hour class) $300 plus $50.00 per person.
- Additional consecutive days $250.00 plus $50.00 per person.
- Mileage charges .95 per mile round trip per day.
