Wassup?

2008/07/28

Wassup? Nothing much, same old same old. Well, my wife's joint problems have gotten worse - more tears in L5, so more pain; she's barely hobbling along with a cane now. So that means she really can't take care of her Dad on Saturdays without my help, so I've been going with her to wheel the poor guy around for hours..

Saturday is when I used to write posts for this website. Somewhow after spending the day doing 'puter stuff, I just don't feel like either writing about it or learning anything new, so that's all sort of come to a halt. As I also used Saturday for housecleaning and stuff like that, all of that gets pushed into Sunday and..

Well, nothing is getting done here. I'm not happy about that, but there it is. Hang tight, we'll resume publishing eventually.

Sorry to hear that Linda's situation is worsening. This is one of the cruel ironies of modern medical science: it can keep us going much longer (heck, look at me -- I'd be dead right now if I had to depend on the medical capabilities of 50 years ago), but it can be hell to experience the prolonged lifetime that results.

Spinal problems probably rank right up there as the worst. Everything depends on the spine and when it isn't up to the task, misery ensues for the poor individual who must endure the suffering. There's just no way to avoid back pain, especially in the lumbar region. And once it hits, your ability to do much of anything is severely curtailed. <Sigh>

Perhaps luck will go your way and something will turn around for her. I know it's a bit of a long-shot at this time, but one never knows.

Peace!

BigDumbDinosaur just about said it all. I would just like to add my well wishing to his. (I, too, would not be around if it were not for modern, or at least 20th-century, medicine.) I hope things can somehow improve. Meanwhile, it sounds like your Saturdays are well spent even though it may not feel like it all the time. Best wishes to all!

I need coffee before I will even open the door, never mind go out there. That's completely non-negotiable, by the way.

It's COLD and my wife wants us to go work in the yard. Do you think I can have her arrested for cruelty? Probably not as she's going too.
